In Japan, Twitter more popular than facebook

Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and probably never imagined Twitter, social media, which they founded in 2006, it found a home in Japan. United States Third person may be confused to know the percentage of internet users who use Twitter is higher in Japan than in their home country.

On June 19, 2010 This, Twitter has become the number 13 most accessed site in Japan, according to Alexa.com. Facebook is much higher than that just getting a place at number 26 in the country this Sakura. To note, in Indonesia, Facebook is the number one site.

Twitter's success is supported by the emergence of the Japanese language version, complete with aksaranya in the year 2008. October 2009, so a mobile version of Twitter in Japanese. Since then, all Japanese people seem so busy "chirp".

On television, showing the various "chirp" the Tweeps. Bars install a special screen memampangkan "chirp" on Twitter about the World Cup. Former Prime Minister also joined tweeting fun.

The proportion of Internet users who use Twitter sped to reach 16.3 percent, far beyond the United States of 9.8 percent. Social media, Twitter became Japan's second largest after mixi, a local social media like Facebook.

But Nielsen Online said last April, had exceeded mixi Twitter. A day, nearly eight million Tweeps appeared in Japan, or 12 percent of total twitter users worldwide per day.

Meanwhile, only three percent of Internet users use Facebook. Compare with 62 percent in America.

"The Japanese are enjoying the most varied forms and the richest of Twitter as a communication tool," said Daisuke Tsuda, a writer who has a 65 thousand follower on Twitter. "Twitter is like the Internet reinvention," he told the Associated Press.

Why is that?

The answer is the Japanese language itself. More Japanese are spoken in the character of the 140 characters that Twitter provided. The word "information" in Japanese language only requires two characters. Clearly, academics and politicians who can provide information at length through a Tweet.

Then, Twitter allows a person to remain anonymous. Anonymity is the general rule in Japan's popular sites.

Third, Twitter also proved an effective business tool. These companies use Twitter to reach consumers and get feedback; a wide range of powered applications and low cost.

In other words, said Rocky Eda, communications manager of Digital Garage, which underpins the operation Twitter in Japanese, Sakura Country residents feel "Twitter is very Japanese,"

Websites that pay you to play games

If you love playing games, now is the moment to earn a little bit of something from your expertise. There are online games where when you win, you don’t only win on bragging rights but you are actually awarded with money or something else.

Moola.com – a website that combines casual gaming
, social networking and $10 million in prize money. Unfortunately, there could only be a few casual gamers who can reach this feat since as you move up, you knock out other players in the competition. Challenge one another in these games, and collect your earning each time you defeat your opponent. You start the game by owning one cent and it doubles every time you win. If you win 30 straight games, you’ll win $10 million in cold cash.

iWon.com – this site has so many games, and you’ll find yourself actually hooked up with many of them. Even though they don’t issue money, points you earn from their website could be converted into a ticket where you can earn so many prizes. When you first visit the website, you’ll have an invitation to spin the wheel five times, and matching combinations will give you a free gift but no cash.

Wipido.com – for hardcore gamers, here’s your site. Although the concept is a little bit shady, this is what you could do: Create a gamer profile and play your favorite games. They will provide you with a tool by which you can record your game and later upload it. Based on the betting system, you’ll be able to win hard cold cash. They don’t recommend any particular game but I think any PC game would be perfect for in game recording.

Kickplay.com – as of this writing, this website is still in Alpha version so it’s still young and could possibly have holes in it. However for a casual gamer it doesn’t really matter. There are lots of games to be enjoyed and they can be fully personalized by uploading your own picture. Sounds can also be customized when you upload your preferred sound or you can just get one from their extensive library of games. Although players don’t earn anything in this game except for killing time by banging your head with the stick or get your face appear in the solitaire card. Developers on the other hand will have the chance of sharing the site earnings with the owner.

How to Avoid Home Based Business Scams

1. Never, NEVER pay for the chance to work!

This is the cardinal rule. You should treat working at home just like you would treat working for an employer at their place of business.

If you were going for a job interview in the 'real world,' how would you react if the interviewer asked you to pay $50 or $100 to land the job, for starter materials, or for a 'good faith' payment to make sure you were serious about the business?

You'd think it was absurd. No legitimate company charges employees a fee for a job.

Whenever you're asked to pay for the chance at a job, or information about work-from-home jobs, you know it's a scam.

Home-based businesses, on the other hand, may require start-up costs to cover investments, materials, franchises, or other items. As we state in the next step, check things out before you pay anything.

2. Check out the business before you pay anything.

Have you heard of the business that's soliciting your money?

If not, check them out carefully. Make sure they have a physical address and a phone number. Call to see if it's a real phone number. Do a search on http://www.Google.com to see if you can find any positive or negative comments. Check references carefully.

Some warning signs of scammer companies:

- They use free Web hosting services (such as Tripod or Geocities).

- They use free Web email services (such as Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail).

- They use Post Office boxes for mailings and don't disclose their real addresses.

- They won't give you a telephone number where you can contact them.

3. Use your credit card to make purchases.

This sounds counter-intuitive, but if you are going to buy a starter kit or make some investment relating to a home-based business, purchase using your credit card.

That way, if you don't receive the items, or if things go wrong, you can dispute the charges with your credit card company. If you're unsure how to do this, speak to your credit card company *before* you make the purchase.

4. Research the market for the proposed business/work.

Every scammer will promise unlimited wealth and easy work. With a little virtual footwork, you can see whether you can make money doing this kind of business or work.

If you're thinking of starting a medical billing practice, for example, call a few doctors and hospitals in your city or town and ask if there would be a market for your services. As we mentioned in the last issue, you may be surprised to discover just how limited the market really is.

5. Beware of vagueness and incredible claims.

Companies that don't state their names, costs, or other important information in their ads usually have a good reason to do so -- they're scammers. As well, be wary of claims that you can"make up to $1,000 a week" doing just a few hours' worth of unskilled work.

Don't be blinded by greed.

6. Put yourself in the employer's/client's shoes.

If you were an honest employer (or client, if you're looking to work from home), think about whether you would make the same kind of offer you're being pitched.

For example, you've read an ad where you can earn $1-2 per piece stuffing envelopes. But companies nowadays have access to sophisticated mailing equipment that can stuff thousands of envelopes an hour -- why would they pay you so much more?

7. Consider starting your own home-based business.

If you're really interested in working for yourself, starting your own home-based business can be a great idea. It also involves a lot of work, and much of the time, some investment.

This is not a decision to make lightly, nor should you start a business just because you can't find a job.

Having said that, starting your own business -- if you're willing to do your homework and do what's necessary to make it a success -- may well become one of the best decisions you ever made.

There are lots of great resources on starting a legitimate home business. (But remember, you won't receive them via spam.)

8. Don't come across as desperate.

You may be in dire straits financially, but it's worth your while to act calmly and professionally -- just like you would in a real-world job search.

Posting messages on forums saying that you are in financial trouble, or desperate to find work from home is a bad idea. Desperation is like blood to sharks -- it'll bring all of the scammers out of the woodwork, and you'll be inundated with phony offers.

9. Be patient.

If you're looking to start a home-based business, or looking for telecommuting work you can do at home, you may have a considerable search ahead of you. There are a *lot* of people in the same boat, many of whom are falling prey to scams every day.

Don't let scammers use high-pressure tactics to sucker you in. If you're given a time-limited offer, there's usually a reason why -- scammers know that pressure brings in people!

Even if you're in dire straits, it pays to be patient... so that you don't lose money to schemes that never materialize.

10. And most important, NEVER reply to spam.

Fraudulent offers for home-based businesses or work-at-home opportunities almost always arrive as spam. The better it sounds, the less likely that it's legitimate.

Scammers aren't planning to deliver anyway, so what does it matter to them what they promise? Delete and move on.

Why Social Media Failed You

You were told it would fix everything. It would boost sales, improve customer relations, manage your online reputation, and reduce every bit of overhead you have. So what went wrong?

Well, to tell you the truth, anything could have gone wrong. Maybe everything went wrong.

You see, the fact about social media is that it’s just a buzzword. It encompasses all kinds of silly things (from Facebook to blogs). Depending on what your goals are some of those things make much sillier business sense than others.

Rules of Social Media Engagement

So, “social media” is just a buzzword. But it’s a buzzword because it encompasses any digital medium that allows top-down, bottom-up, and peer-to-peer communication. Social media is a more than a two-way medium. It’s a multi-medium.

And that is its potential as a marketing tool. Social Media doesn’t just let you have a conversation with your target market; it lets your customers have conversations with other (potential) customers. Independent, third-party endorsements are worth so much more than any tagline or jingle.

But because it’s a relationship driven multi-medium, you have to respect the rules of engagement:

1. Relationships come before sales,
2. You go to the community, the community doesn’t come to you,
3. Communities are grown, not built,
4. Don’t try to replace the community, and
5. Content is king.

So if social media isn’t working for you, try asking yourself if you’re breaking any of these rules.
1. You Tried to Drive Sales

Maybe you read it on a blog. Maybe you heard it in a podcast. Maybe you saw it during a presentation at a conference that you paid too much to attend. Either way, you heard that social media could bolster your sales strategy.

So you did it — you jumped into this thing called social media. And nothing happened. Sales remained flat. How come? Because relationships come before sales

Well, building relationships takes time because building trust takes time. If you develop some (online) way to for your existing customers to improve their brand experience, invite them to take advantage of it, and take the time to build relationships with them, then your sales will probably increase – in a year or so.

First, sales will increase because your existing customers will become more loyal. Then, sales will increase some more because those loyal customers will refer their friends and family.

The point is that social media is more of a marketing tool than a sales tool. It can support your sales strategy, just like customer service can, but it’s not really meant to be part of it.
2. You’re Not Where Your Customers Are

It’s easy to get swept up in the hype. That’s why when you heard about how Twitter, blogging, or Facebook helped a major brand, you wanted to do it too. And it’s great that you’re trying to engage consumers.

But are you engaging your customers? Are you hanging out in the right crowd?

Just like any marketing initiative, social media takes time, preparation, and research. Before you decide how to use social media as part of your marketing strategy, you have to figure out where your customers hang out online. It’d be great if your blog gets 1,000 visits a day or your podcast has 20,000 subscribers, but what if your customers don’t read blogs or listen to podcasts?

Twitter is one of the best examples. Twitter is a media darling. Twitter got real big, real fast. But baby-boomers don’t really use Twitter, so if you’re targeting baby-boomers, Twitter isn’t the place to do it.

Remember, “social media” is just a buzzword that encompasses all kinds of digital media – including blogs, podcast, Facebook, Twitter, forums, etc. So before investing in social media, do your market research and make sure you’re investing in the right social medium.
3. You Thought if You Built It, They Would Come

I know that many a podcaster, blogger, or conference speaker make social media seem like a Field of Dreams. But that doesn’t mean if you build it, they’ll come.

Even if you’re hanging out in the right places and with the right crowd online, you still have to put in some effort. You have to make some noise. You have to go out of your way to make friends. You have to show your friends and your community what you can offer them.

Once you’ve got your social presence set up, go out there and talk to people. Get to know them, and start building relationships.
4. You Tried Re-Inventing the Wheel

Seeing how your customers use social media can be inspiring. You see them connect and interact, and you want to be part of that, but that doesn’t mean re-inventing the wheel and setting up your own walled garden.

Your customers are already part of an online community that fills their needs. There, they have all the features and functions they need to interact and maintain their relationships. But most importantly, their personal network is already there.

Just like you’re not going to get a community to uproot and leave Facebook for Twitter, you’re not going to get them to migrate to a branded walled garden. So you can spare yourself the cost of developing a branded social network.

But depending on where your customers hang out, you might be able to create a branded neighborhood within that community. Many social networks offer APIs that you can build on so that your brand can better engage their users.

Take Facebook Connect, for example. You can use Facebook Connect to let user login to your site with their pre-existing Facebook credentials, and then share immediately share your content with the rest of their network.

So instead of re-inventing the wheel, think about how your brand can improve on it slightly – maybe by offering better tires, suspension, or rims.
5. You Don’t Have Any Content

There’s a reason they say “Content is King”. Because online, content makes the worldwide web goes round.
Whether it’s a viral video, a support forum thread, or the UGC wall posts between community members, content brokers all of our relationships online. It’s through content production that we meet, get to know one another, and build relationships.

So if regular content production isn’t part of your social media strategy, it’s going to fail. If your brand is going to participate in a community and build relationships with consumers, it has to produce content that’s useful to community members and customers.

This can be anything. It can be tutorial blog posts, coupons feeds, funny pictures, etc. But it has to be relevant to your customers’ demographic and it has to be regular.

Because once you stop producing content, you stop participating, and relationships whither. [www.revenews.com]

Facebook Ads: Low Value Ad Space

Data from ComScore shows that ad space on Facebook (and other social networks) is worth less than 25 percent the online average. Social network CPMs are so far below average, in fact, that they’ve driven web-wide CPMs down by nearly 20 percent. As AdAge reports:

A recent analysis by ComScore shows social networks, primarily Facebook and MySpace, have over the last year drawn an average CPM of only 56 cents, compared to the $2.43 average for the internet at large. Looking more closely, the ComScore data show that the average pricing for online ads exclusive of social-networking sites, namely Facebook and MySpace, would be much higher, about $2.99 for every 1,000 views; social sites dragged down the average online CPM by as much as 18% over the last year.

While part of the problem is likely the sheer volume of page views that Facebook (and other social networks) receives, part of it is undoubtedly conversion rates. After all, users log in to Facebook to interact/socialize, not consume.

Basically, all Facebook ads are placed out of context.

So despite the depth of user-data that Facebook possesses and the hyper-targeting abilities it could make possible, Facebook needs to find something other than Facebook Ads to appeal to advertisers. User-generated-content isn’t the same thing as consumer content, and users interact with it with it in an entirely different way.
Reinventing the Wheel

While Facebook has the means (i.e. the data) to “hyper-target” users, they still lack an appropriate channel. Essentially, the way in which Facebook users interact with the site renders most Facebook ads untargeted to the extent that they’re unwelcome. So what Facebook has to do is develop a completely new value proposition for advertisers by taking that user experience away from the conventional web.

Basically, Facebook must devise some way to build marketing messages into the user experience. But when all your content is UGC, how do you pursue a symbiotic editorial?

Part of that will come through Facebook Connect – i.e. opening up the social graph to third-parties that provide the consumer content they lack. And part of it might lie in mobile – i.e. the mobile OS that Facebook might be developing.

Exactly what that advertising opportunity is going to end up looking like is anyone’s guess. What is certain is that until Facebook develops and deploys it, their ad space will still be worth bupkis – and if they drag their feet, they might end up being the next MySpace.

Make Money from Games

Whether your a web site publisher or games developer, there are numerous ways to make a decent living online from your skills.

For example, if you have a web site that attracts visitors who would also enjoy playing games (who doesn't), then you can sign up for Big Fish Games affiliate program and earn yourself commissions for referring people to them.

On the other hand, if you're a games developer, they also accept games from programmers outside their own company. In this case, you agree for them to sell your game within their huge network for a percentage of the profit. Many developers find this more profitable than trying to promote their games themselves, as it leaves them more time to concentrate on what they do best, that is develop games.

Ways you can make money from Big Fish Games, even if you don't own a web site:

1. Every affiliate gets their own free site called 'My Game Space', that they can share with friends. In this Game Space, you can write your own reviews or use a built-in email service to send personalized invitations to family and friends.

2. Do you take part in social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace? Create a link through to your 'Game Space' from your social networking page. Every time someone clicks through and makes a purchase, you will be given a percentage of the sale. The best part is, every time that person buys a game, even in the future, you will be credited for the referal.

3. You could possibly review some games in video format and upload them to UTube. It won't be long before you find yourself with a huge following. On your UTube page, make sure you create a link back to your Game Space so you are credited for any sales that are generated. Even Big Fish themselves have a channel on UTube.

4. How about starting a blog and reviewing some of the games you play yourself? Again, make sure you link back to your affiliate Game Space site.

5. Do you send out a lot of email? Why not add a link back to your Game Space page in the signature of every email. Note, I'm not talking about spamming people here.

6. Maybe you take part in lots of discussion forums. How about adding a link to your Game Space in your profile or at the bottom of each post within your signature.

You can find out more about how this works by visiting: Big Fish Games Principal Network

Don’t Fear Being Broke or Going Bankrupt

I think it is a really great quote and applies to being an entrepreneur.

Donald Trump is one of the most well known entrepreneurs in the USA. Partially this is due to his ability to brand himself but largely it is due to the immense fortune he has created.

Yet Donald Trump has suffered from financial woes. He was on the brink of personal bankruptcy in 1991. He has had to suffer several of his businesses entering bankruptcy over the years including several of his hotels, resorts, and casinos.

However I think just about every reader of this blog would probably be willing to buy into Trump’s business if they were allowed too. We all know that a good man like Donald Trump won’t be held back. He will bounce back just as he did in the late 90s to middle 2000’s.

Being an entrepreneur means you’re willing to take risks and you might even go broke once in awhile. You know those losses are only temporary. You know you have the skills and knowledge it takes to succeed and you will bounce back from adversity.

The quote from Mike Todd is a good one because there is a difference between being broke and being poor. Poverty is a state of mind. You feel poor and hence you are poor. You overlook risks and opportunity because of your fear. You aren’t willing to make the sacrifice. Maybe the sacrifice is to take a job that you hate to pay down the bills to get back to where you want to be. The poor person will make excuses instead of taking that job. The broke person knows that perhaps that job will allow them to get into a position to try again. They know the reward of trying again in business is better than the pain of having to eat their pride and take a job.

Does that make sense to you?

Do you understand the difference between being poor and bring broke?

What do you think?

How to spot an Email Hoax

Spotting the latest email hoaxes may be easier than you think!

There are thousands of email hoaxes moving around the Internet at any given time. Some may be the latest email hoaxes around. Others may be mutated versions of hoax messages that have travelled the Internet for years. These email hoaxes cover a range of subject matter, including:

* Supposedly free giveaways in exchange for forwarding emails.
* Bogus virus alerts.
* False appeals to help sick children.
* Pointless petitions that lead nowhere and accomplish nothing.
* Dire, and completely fictional, warnings about products, companies, government policies or coming events.

The good news is that, with a little bit of foreknowledge, email hoaxes are easy to detect. Hidden within the colourful prose of your average email hoax often lurk telling indicators of the email's veracity.

Probably the most obvious of these indicators is a line such as "Send this email to everyone in your address book". Hoax writers want their material to spread as far and as fast as possible, so almost every hoax email will in some way exhort you to send it to other people. Some email hoaxes take a more targeted approach and suggest that you send the email to a specified number of people in order to collect a prize or realize a benefit.

Another indicator is that hoaxes tend not to provide checkable references to back up their spurious claims. Genuine competitions, promotions, giveaways or charity drives will usually provide a link to a company website or publication. Real virus warnings are likely to include a link to a reputable virus information website. Emails containing Government or company policy information are likely to include references to checkable sources such as news articles, websites or other publications.

A third indicator is often the actual language used. Email hoax writers have a tendency to use an emotive, "over-the-top" style of writing peppered with words and phrases such as "Urgent", "Danger", "worst ever virus!!", "sign now before it's too late" and so on, often rendered in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS for added emphasis. Paragraphs dripping with pathos speak of dying children; others "shout" with almost rabid excitement about free air travel or mobile phones. As well, some email hoaxes try to add credibility by using highly technical language.

Before forwarding an email, ask yourself these questions:

1. Does the email ask you to send it to a lot of other people?
2. Does the email fail to provide confirmation sources?
3. Is the language used overly emotive or highly technical?

A "yes" answer to one or more of the above questions, should start some alarm bells ringing. These indicators do not offer conclusive evidence that the email is a hoax but they are certainly enough to warrant further investigation before you hit the "Forward" Button.

Success Stories: Direct Marketers Become Young Millionaires

Company description:CCM Marketing Inc., a media buying advertising agency specializing in the direct-response market

Founders: Suzy da Silva, 33, and Nicole Licata, 35

Location: San Luis Obisbo, California

Projected 2004 sales: $30 million

Directly Speaking: Suzy da Silva and Nicole Licata met in 1998 while working at a direct-response advertising agency, and the lack of ethics they sometimes witnessed inspired the pair to branch out on their own in 2001. "We wanted to do something that would treat the clients better," says Licata, "because direct response in general is a not-so-upfront industry. A lot of people take your money and don't tell you why they're taking it."

Timing Troubles: After the partners started their business in July 2001, the 9/11 terrorist attacks nearly put a quick stop to their venture because nobody was watching or buying from infomercials-it was all news all the time. To get through it, the pair went to TV stations directly to look for compromises and ad rate reduction deals that would help everybody-their clients, the stations and themselves-to survive. "Everyone had to be a team at that point," says da Silva.

Know Thyself: Says Licata, "We're both salespeople, so we have a lot of people watching over what is not our strong point-accounting. If you see a weakness in your business and you don't [understand] it, don't pretend you do. Hire somebody."

One Big Family: During the lean times after 9/11, da Silva and Licata vowed they wouldn't lay off a single employee. Though they had to forgo their own paychecks for a time, and each gained 25 pounds from the stress of it all, they kept their promise. Says da Silva, "We didn't want people out in that kind of environment. It's like a family here." The result: incredibly loyal employees and a knowledge that the duo can get through anything-including successfully losing their stress-related pounds. [entrepreneur.com]

Containing Terrorist Material, 70,000 Blogs Shut Down

As CNET's Greg Sandoval reports, Blogetery.com and Ipbfree.com, blog/forum platforms that hosted massive amounts of user-generated content, have been shut down by unnamed law enforcement agencies for unnamed reasons. Blogetery is said to have hosted over 70,000 blogs.

It is unclear if the two terminations are connected, but it would be a pretty big coincidence if they were not. As Sandoval says, both services have said they are not coming back, both claim to have obeyed copyright law, and both are saying they are legally required not to disclose any information.

Why are these blogs being shut down?A message at Blogetery's site reads:

After being BurstNet customer for 7 months our server was terminated without any notification or explanation.

We're trying to resolve the situation.

So, simply put, lots of user-generated content has been eliminated with no explanation of why, and no government agency has stepped up to at least say it was them who made the order. Naturally, this can only lead to speculation and rumor until someone is able to go on record and take responsibility. That speculation will only escalate until that happens, and it is already starting throughout the Blogosphere.

Sandoval quotes an official from an ironically unnamed government agency, who says that he doesn't know of any government agencies that have the authority to terminate such services without going through the "legal hoops". (HT: Curt Hopkins)

Any takers?

Update: CNET now reports that the FBI sent Burst.net (which hosted the Blogetery service) a Voluntary Emergency Disclosure of Information request, but never requested Burst's server (the shutting down of which resulted in the termination of Blogetery).

The FBI, apparently found Al-Qaeda-related bomb-making instructions and a "hit list" on Blogetery. It's still not clear why the entire service needed to be shut down, and why Burst decided to go that extra mile, even without instruction to do so from the FBI. Whether or not the Ipbfree incident is related is still unknown. More facts will no doubt be made more clear in time. A big hat tip goes to CNET's Greg Sandoval. [webronews]

Promoting Translation Business

1) Tell everyone about your business.
Make sure that when you do tell people that you are confident about your abilities. Act like you've been doing it for a long time and people will trust you more with their work.

2) Contact local businesses and let them know about your services.
There are a ton of local businesses that could use translation services every once in a while. Theses businesses do not often deal with translators and so when the time comes that they need one, they go to the phone book or they find someone they know. Be the person they know.

3) Volunteer.
There are a ton of volunteer opportunities either in your community or online where you can provide translation services for free. This will get your name out there and eventually give you more exposure. Check with your local United Way or other non-profit groups in the area to see if they know of anybody in need of a translator.

4) Get online.
If you're not able to find enough work in your local area, you might need to expand operations. Get online, create a website and let people know you're there. This article isn't about getting online, but there are plenty of articles written that can help you with that.

5) Ask former clients for referrals.
If you've done a good job for a client and they were happy working with you, try and hit them up for either more work or the name of somebody that might need some work done. People are willing to pass your name on as long as you've been professional with them.

6) Get a business card. This goes along with the first couple of tips.
You can tell people until your blue in the face about your new freelance translation business, but when it comes time for them to find a translator, they'll have forgotten who it was that was telling them about their translation business. By always carrying your business card, you can give something concrete to people, and they will have something to refer back to.

7) Don't stop.
A lot of translators might do a couple of the steps outlined above, get some translation work, and then stop marketing themselves. As a translator, you should spend part of your time each day marketing your freelance translation business. The minute you stop doing that is the minute you start losing translation contracts. Better to spend a few minutes each day marketing rather than try to play catch-up every couple of weeks.

Advice on a marketing strategy #1: website with wine tasting tours

Question: I am new to the affiliate world and I had a question that I am hoping someone will be willing to answer. I have a website that I am trying to promote. The website pertains the city that I live in. We are the third largest wine region in California. I started the website with wine tasting tours and Hotels in mind. The problem is.....the companies that offer the wine tasting tours, do not offer affiliate programs. The same is true for the B&B's. I feel my site would very much benefit them, however; I have no idea how to go about convincing them of this! I should add that this city has grown about triple its size in the last few years, and many of the locals are still treating it as a small town.

answer: before you ditch a money maker let me offer an oppinion.

Why not visit a few of the winereys and offer advertising for them through your site. give them their first month free, then charge them after that. established business have good sized adverdising budgets.

set up a printable coupon on your site that the new customer can print and take to the winery. maybe a discount or vip coupon, something that makes the customer print the coupon and take it to the winery. have the winery keep all the coupons they collect, then go back to the winery after a month or so. if you can prove to the winery that your service is making them money they will probably pay you for the advertising on your site.

you could probably make from $200-$500 per month per winery depending on your traffic.

remember areas like napa are huge tourists traps, so you could be bringing in tourists from all over the world so the value of your site to these winereys could be quite large.

something else to think about, i know napa has some great golf courses as well...hint hint. [dp forums]

How to Make $1000/Day

Here's powerful tips for beginner posted in dp forum. One point I got from this tip, everything needs process as well in making money from the internet. Hopefully you can take benefits from these tips.

Starting from today, I want all beginners to stop thinking about the money and more about how they can run a profitable business and system that overdelivers in value and actually helps your chosen customers..

Only once you adopt this mentality will the money flow.

It may seem harsh but posting ''how do I make money'' tells me that you are someone looking for a big fix and perhaps believes that online the rules are different.

Believe it or not, the same rules apply.

If you can align yourself in a market with the product that will knock your customers socks off you will succeed.

[On a side note

I get a lot of emails from people asking for my opinion on a ''NEW SECRET SYSTEM'', and perhaps its just the nature of the IM niche, but you have to be wary when a ''new secret system'' is packaged in product form. Why? Because that's one of the best business models out there for making money. Unfortunately sometimes, the big V is missing from these packages.]

For instance, some of the biggest niches online are wealth and health.

For newbies. Simply create a squeeze page, offer a stupendous free report and market on the Thank You Page and backend offering value and support.

Required investments for this? Web hosting, domain name and autoresponder.

Then simply drive RELEVANT traffic via ppc , articles, seo, youtube, forums, offline flyers, adswaps, tell a friend scripts (where you tell your subscribers, that for in return for another mind blowing free report/video simply tell your friends about the initial squeeze page)

Then later on you can think of creating your own product, attracting your own affiliates (teaching them the above method), thus allowing them to make sales...thus increasing your clickbank gravity, thus allowing you to gain more natural affiliates (then it gets crazy!!)

So get the basics down in your business and then start thinking and doing big.

Wanna be a stock broker?

To become a stock broker, you should be able to communicate well and work easily with numbers. There are no set academic requirements, but most potential employers will be looking for a degree. Your degree can be in virtually any field, but economics, business, finance or accountancy will give you an edge over other candidates.

In addition to an understanding of how financial markets work, most positions require an understanding of economics and politics. World events have an effect on world markets, and you will need to develop the ability to anticipate these effects.

You should also take advantage of on-the-job trainings, offered by most brokerage firms, to prepare for the some exams required to be a broker, a process that takes four to six months. Upon passing the required exams, a broker becomes a registered representative of his or her sponsoring firm.

As with any sales job, you need thick skin to succeed, and especially to survive those lean early years of long hours, rejection and spaghetti dinners.
