According to StatCounter’s GlobalStats research arm, Twitter now generates almost 10% of social media driven global hits to websites, while Facebook still reigns supreme as the primary source of traffic to global websites with almost half (48%) of ‘Social Media hits’.
Surprisingly, the number two social media traffic generator is not Twitter, but StumbleUpon with almost a quarter (25%). Furthermore, StatCounter claims StumbleUpon was number one ahead of Facebook in the US last month, in terms of traffic generation.
The data for March 2010 is said to be based on 13 billion page views across the global StatCounter network of member sites. The company only recently added social media services to its GlobalStats tool, and notes that its market share appears to fluctuate way more than browser or search statistics.
As you can tell from the graph above (larger version here), Facebook peaked around in the holiday period at the end of the year and is actually losing share fast, although still dominant with roughly half of social media traffic coming from the social network. StumbleUpon and Twitter have enjoyed a similar growth curve since the end of last year, although the former’s growth is clearly accelerating faster in comparison to Twitter.
StumbleUpon’s large share is surprising because it usually flies under the radar when it comes to traffic generation from social services on the Web. Perhaps it owes its high rank to the fact that its main reason of being is having users discover third-party websites, while Twitter and Facebook are not only about sharing links but also status, location and activity updates as well as media like photos and videos.
Then again, Digg didn’t even make it to the top 5 in StatCounter’s research.

Twitter Search is just amazing because it can give you real-time feedback about pretty much everything. That is, if you know how to look for it. Here is how: Before we start I need to point out that both TweetDeck and Seesmic (my two favorite Twitter apps – with Seesmic being the #1) allows you to open special search panels, allowing you to “follow” a search term, instead of a person.
This is a great way to keep on top of things.

1: Get up to speed with all the latest buzz
The primary way that I keep up-to-speed on social networking is to follow a social networking search. For instance, let say you want to get all the new links about social media, not including the many re-tweets that people make.
Simply search for:

2: Find all the people who are not talking about you directly
Another thing you might want to do is to find all the people who talks about you (or your product) but isn’t including you directly. E.g. If I want to find all the people who mention my name, but aren’t replying to me.

Note: You can also find everyone who links to you via BackTweets
3: Get all reactions across multiple twitter profiles
Another thing you might want to do is to get all the replies and mentions that refer to you, across multiple twitter profiles. For instance, I have 7 twitter profiles and I would really like to see everything in one place.

6: Only get the new info about a topic
One of the most common way to use Twitter search is to search for hashtags or product names. But the results are very often filled with identical tweets.

It can be really interesting to see only the pictures that people post about a certain topic or event. During this year’s Le Mans, I was continually following every picture that people tweeted. You do this by simply searching for:

Few tips to get started in PPV, this is everything (or almost everything) you need to know!
Budget
PPV is about testing, tracking, and optimizing. To get into CPV networks you need a minimum budget to work with.
Traffic Vance: $1000 + Referral
Lead Impact: $200
Media Traffic: $200
Direct CPV: $100 ($25 Bonus using code "CPV25")
Addon: $50
Linksador: $50
If you are working with a small budget of $50-$300 like me, start with email/zip submits and possibly small forms that payout $1-$3. You will need to test multiple offers of multiple amounts of each payout. If a email submit pays $1.50 you could get enough data to optimize with $10 spend. If the campaign shows promise great, optimize and scale. If not move on and try new campaigns.
If you have a bigger budgets of $300 or more try short form lead gens. They can pay from $3-6 a lead. If you have thousands of $ to spend you can try short forms, long forms, mobile, trials and cost per sale offers.
Once you find a winning campaign your campaign may die down after a couple of weeks and become unprofitable. This is normal so keep building new campaigns. You've probably already made a lot of money if you had a profitable campaign.
Tracking
Track everything down to the keyword and url level. Use tracking202 or the all new bevo media. This is key to finding out profitable targets on your campaigns. Track url/keyword spend, landing page click through rates, offer conversion. Delete or lower the bids of keyword/url targets that don't convert.(You do not have to be #1 bidder to get traffic.) Dump or improve landing pages with lower ctrs. Switch offers with low conversions. If a campaign doesn't seem to work out don't rule it out just yet. Try a different approach to market it. If you feel that it just won't work out then keep your head up and start a new campaign from scratch.
Split Testing
You can split test these things:
Traffic source - not all campaigns have the same results on the same network
Landing page - Get the highest CTR you can, Change headlines, images, layouts. Grab their attention, make it stand out, but keep it simple, don't put too much. You want them to click through, not read a full review.
Offers - Rotate similar offers, across different networks. The exact same offer will have different conversion rates on 2 networks.
Getting targets
There a few ways to find targets for your campaign.
Brainstorm keywords and scrape top search engine results from each keyword.
Brainstorm sites you want to target and find similar sites on Alexa Quantcast and URLS
Target a specific demographics using Alexa and Quantcast Ad Planner
You don't need 1k urls and 1k keywords. Start out with 50-100 good urls and kws that you built by hand, test, add another group of urls.
You will notice most URLs won't get a lot of traffic unless its high up the alexa rank.
Think outside the box
You have a credit report offer, are you going to target credit report sites, and competitors? So is everyone else. Ask these questions:Who needs or might be looking for a credit report? People buying or leasing new or used cars. People looking for mortgages and refinance.
Implement major trends with your campaigns.
You have a direct TV offer. You're going to target satellite and cable companies? Thats ok. How about HDTV review sites weeks before the Super Bowl?
Landing pages
Many times you need a landing page to bring a medium between the offer and the target. Relate why your visitors need to complete a CPA offer. Longer forms and cost per sale offers don't usually perform well without a landing page. Your offer may not even fit on the window size allowed on the PPV network. Here are the network specifications:
Traffic Vance - 800 x 600

Addon - 720 x 300 and various banner sizes
Media Traffic - 750 x 550
Direct CPV - Full Screen, within the same browser window, no pop
Look into each PPV network when you sign up, they can offer pop ups, pop unders, link ads, or within a website banners
I have a profitable campaign. Now what?
Scale. Search for similar links or urls of your good converting targets. Make variations of them and misspellings. Are you targeting moneymakerdiscussion.com ? Try moneymakerdiscussion as a keyword or money maker discussion .
Take your campaign across different PPV networks. Create similar campaigns targeting a different set of audience. Is your credit report offer making you money targeting people looking to buy used cars? Good now target people looking to buy new cars. People to buy luxury cars. Then try people looking to rent an apartment. If you go this far you are probably making hundreds a day by now.
Take your campaigns to PPC and Media Buys. You have an idea on what keywords and type of sites are working. Now try to target them using google search and content network. See if you can buy banner space on your converting websites. You will get way more traffic and money.

Microsoft and Wordpress announced today that WordPress.com is becoming the default blogging platform for Windows Live Spaces. The two companies have worked together on a migration service for Spaces bloggers to easily bring all their posts, comments, and photos to WordPress.com.
The transition will take place over a six-month period beginning today. Windows Live Spaces users will have the option to move their blogs to WordPress.com. There is a new importer for Windows Live Spaces to WordPress.com. New Windows Live users will also be offered a WordPress.com blog when they choose to create a new blog.

Is it possible to get decent traffic to a blog without ranking high for keywords? The blog would be a daily post type of thing about highly sought after info. but keywords are pretty saturated, so could I get any traffic by just pinging and creative marketing. This is step 4, but it's short and sweet. You just need to optimize your ads for better performance. You have to let your visitors know that they are there, but not let them know that you're trying to sell them something.
Ads need to be integrated and "blended" into your website. They need to look like they are part of your website, and not just some random text trying to sell something. The first step is to match your ads' font and color to your website's. Next you need to place them stratigically. This can be hard at first but will get easy. Basically, you need to place the ads in unexpected places. For instance if you have a blog, as you probably do, you would want a full banner under your first post, then a rectangle to the right of the second one. The third banner usually goes up at the top of the webpage, or made to stand out from the rest of the page. All you have to do is change the color so that it attracts attention, but don't change the font. It makes your page look unprofessional.

Autoblogging with Wordpress #3
You should already have some traffic on your website, but now it's time to expand upon the power of the web.
Twitter
That plugin that you installed on your WP blog earlier will add updates to your twitter account every time there is an update on your blog.
If you have not already done so, go ahead and make a twitter account. Don't use your personal email address. Create one Gmail account and signup for twitter with that email. If you are managing more than one blog, use the same email, except add a dot somewhere in there. For example, you would create two twitter accounts. One account would use the email joe.doe@gmail.com, and the other would use joed.oe@gmail.com.
Use a spreadsheet to keep track of your accounts, such as the one from Excel. If you don't do this, you will lose much time and money. Organization is the biggest thing that a majority of internet marketers overlook so they end up being engulfed by all of their details.
Facebook
Another great networking too. However, it's not so great for autoblogs and things that you want to keep on autopilot, but it's still a good thing to have, especially if you have videos. Use ffwdPlayer, which you can find by searching on Facebook to automatically post videos. Other than that, include an incentive to join your fan page. Look at the page that made Mr. Bean into an avatar. You have to join the group to see the full thing. Do something similar, but relate it to your nice and website. Also add a become a fan button to your page. How to do these things can be found by doing a Google search.
Myspace
This place still has plenty of users. Just create a page, put some bells and whistles on it, add a button to your website and move on. Making a girl profile will attract the most number of people, but it is not very targeted. Make your profile visible to all and add your link.
YouTube
There are lots and lots of things you can do with youtube. What I advise with autoblogs is to get a youtube video downloader, such as dvdVideoSoft, and find the latest news related to your blog. Get about 5-10 videos, and make profiles using the method above, so that you have 2 videos per account. Don't steal from CBS, or WMG. Find something that a user uploaded and it's being talked about. It should be at least a day old. Search and click sort by date. Also, use proxy.org when creating multiple profiles, but you will need more than one Gmail account since Youtube and Google have been integrated. Also, add you link in the description and over your video.
Digg
This is not something that you should stress too much about, but it does not hurt to add you link on it. If by chance your story becomes popular, then great for you, if not, move on. It only takes 5 min. Also add some sort of digg widget to your blog. This is a good one: WordPress › Digg Integrate , but feel free to try out other ones.
Forums in general
Forums are great because you can get very targeted traffic. You want at least 10 profiles with backlinks to your site in the signature or your profile page. This is mainly for backlink relevancy but don't spend too much time advertising on forums. If you have xRumer or know where to get a good service, then use it. It's a great investment, and will give you much backlink juice.

Why Twitter Is Better Than Face Book
An informative article in today’s eMarketer shows that Twitter followers are more likely to induce advocacy and future purchases than those on Facebook.According to their data, 37% of respondents were more likely to purchase from a brand after following them on Twitter as opposed to only 17% of those that “like” a brand on Facebook.
It is absolutely not surprising , and I ascertain one fact and the reason is simple: Twitter is a unique yet powerful platform that has a capability to attract an audience receptive to marketing messages much more than Facebook.
A great quote that I wish I could say I came up with at this point in time is something like this: “Facebook is for the people you know while Twitter is for those you desire or wish to know.”
Facebook is not a good platform for delivering news and other marketing stuff. The default front page view does not show a user every post from all of those in their network but rather an abbreviated feed that Facebook feels is most relevant to them.
Secondly, the function of setting up lists, which are an excellent way to segment content on Facebook and could provide value in the service as a news aggregator, is highly underused and is some thing that makes an online marketer feel itchy .

SEO Tips for Blogger Blog: Optimizing Blogger Title Tags
By default Blogger templates come with a “smart” tag inserted that automatically places the Blog Title before every post title in the title tags on the actual post pages. This “smart” tag also displays only the Blogger Title for the main page of the blog - meaning your Blog title is shown on EVERY page. For those of you not familiar, here are a couple of things about title tags.
1. Title tags describe a page. They are a one line summary of what the page is about. The common understanding of the tag is to wrap the title of the site. Unfortunately for many people, the title of the site is completely un-descriptive of the content of the blog. For example, my blog is called "Search Marketing Blog Online”. If I put this in the title tag, search engines really have no clue as to the content of each post on my site. It would be much better for SEO to place a keyword-rich description (e.g. “Optimizing Title Tags for Blogger”) in the title tag.
2. It’s the Title Used in SERPs! The content of your title tag is what will be displayed in search engine results.

Hosting a blog on a free host like Google owned Blogger need not be a disadvantage to achieving high search engine rankings. Simply apply recommended standard SEO optimization techniques and the blog will do very well in the SERPs.

How to SEO Wordpress-Autoblog?
Is there a way to Search Engine Optimization an autoblog? Here some plugins you can install into your wordpress autoblog.
- Search Engine Optimization Smart Links.. it auto creates internal linking based on keywords or phrases. I use it for autoblogs by creating a money page and having all the auto generated pages link to it using the keywords I used to get the content.
- Platinum Search Engine Optimization Pack....I like it better than All In One Search Engine Optimization Pack mainly because it has an automatic 301 redirect feature, which All In One lacks.
As far as automating content, I'm using the 2 plugins in Auto Content Cash (which is downloadable on this forum).....Auto Content Answers (which pulls content from Yahoo Answers based on your designated keywords) and Auto Content Video (pulls content from Youtube).
Each plugin puts the tags assigned by the Yahoo or YT user to the tags of your post...then Platinum Search Engine Optimization plugin places those post tags into your meta tags.
I only set this up a few days ago...so I have yet to see results in the SERPs. But it's a pretty easy and comprehensive set up.

Autoblogging with Wordpress Tutorial #2
Step 2 includes content and traffic. Even if you have already setup your own autoblog with content it will not hurt to read this over.
Protection
Google, commonly referred to as the big G, knows when you have an autoblog setup. Its spiders crawl your entire site and record everything. Create a text file and add the following to it:
Sitemap: /sitemap.xml
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-content/cache/
Disallow: /wp-content/themes/
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Disallow: /wp-login.php
Save it as robots.txt and upload it to your root folder. This will stop the spiders from searching those folders.
Finding Content
Ok, so now that we have protection on, its time to find some content. Google is now your best friend and we shall abuse him anyway we like(which you should not do to your human friends). If you have an adsense account, by all means use it. It has the highest payout rate anywhere, but we don't want to get banned. Therefore, we will fetch less obvious content(copyright wise). Type into google, something like, tv shows review "powered by wordpress". Include the "powered by wordpress" part so that you will stumble upon rss feeds more easily. Put your own twist on the search keywords.
Look for the orange rss icon (google it if you dont know what it is), and click it. In our example(tv shows review "powered by wordpress") the first 2 results return UFO TV Series 8 Disc DVD Megaset Review | Product Reviews and Buying Guides from OpTempo and Movie Reviews, Music Reviews, TV Show Reviews, Game Reviews. Both of them have the rss url in the top right corner. The rss icon is missing in the second one and as you can tell, it's not required.
Now you may notice that the first one give a full article, but sells stuff in it too. We don't want to sell anyone's junk, no matter how cool you think it is. Remember, one mans garbage could be another's treasure. In this case, it could cost you some pocket change(or a few hundred dollars). that's why we want to avoid it. The second one only gives us an introduction which also not good for our visitors. That's why we have to keep on looking, and this could take anywhere from 5 minutes, to 5 hours(not usually).
For those who don't have an adsense account, go to sidereel.com and pick your favorite TV show, or the one in the top 10 from the right column. Click through some of those shows and look for the rss feed like I mentioned above. Or perform a google search with something like free online tv shows "powered by wordpress". If you're not using standard ad banners, such as those from clicksor, the CPA is your best bet. One of my favorite things to use is CPALead. Create a widget that you can use for all of your videos and set the timer to 16 minutes. It will interrupt the show either near the end, or the middle of it, and will result in a higher conversion rate. Include text that says, fill out a free survey 1 time for unlimited access, or something of the sort. Put your own twist on it, and experiment.
Now hold on to your britches(pants in the olden days), because we're about to get us some free content.
Content Automation
Like 99% of internet marketers, I'm just as lazy as the next guy. Thank goodness for automation. Setting up wp-o-matic can be a complicated process, so here is a simple version. The video quality is not that great but you'll still be able to follow along.

For those using adsense and articles, I suggest you get no more than 5 entries per day, and for those getting the video, I suggest 20 per day. Start out with 50 entries if you're using videos, and if possible try to find posts with descriptions in them.
The Holy Grail (the traffic)
Ok, for some of you the above will not be a problem, so here's a little something that will keep you busy. Get a Gmail account, go back to sidereel.com and create an account, and add a link to the appropriate TV shows. There's also tvduck.com, which requires s reciprocal link, and yidio.com. Those three will bring in traffic within the week, it's not going to be a lot though, so don't expect to make more than $0.10, since you don't have that many posts. If you have a tv show site with video, or just text these links will last for a while and will bring in very targeted traffic, but don't rely on it since this market has become a bit saturated.
However, for those not those that are not working on a tv site, go to Google and search for pmblaster. Get the phpbb one and download the one for vbulleting here RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting. You do the same thing as when you're trying to find content. Type in your niche and then "powered by (insert forum type here)". Most popular forums have protection against this, and it takes a little bit to get use to, so search around page 3, 4, and 5 of the google results. It's an amazing piece of software but it takes time to find a working forum. When searching try different variations of your KW. I do not recommend using this for the movie sites since forums generally share trusted sites, or simply share the video right there in the forum.
Don't worry though, we won't be doing this much boring and hard labor.
Autoblogging with Wordpress Tutorial #1
In this step well cover the basics and if you know about a topic or have it setup, just skip it. The setup on 3rd party websites are self explanatory, but feel free to ask.We'll be setting up an autoblog, so if you have any suggestions after reading through the instructions, don't hesitate to add your input. Scroll to the bottom if you decide to skip these steps.
Getting hosting and domain
Lets begin. A good host is Web Hosting Services, Reseller Hosting, and Dedicated Servers by HostGator and a good registrat is Domain Names, Web Hosting and SSL Certificates - Go Daddy for $1 .info domains. The host is where you put your website files, and the registrar is where you get your domain so people can visit your site. In your registrar set your DNS to the DNS that is provided to you by your host.
Setup
You should have received login details to your CPanel. On the left you'll find your server details, and on the right you'll have more options. If your primary domain is not the one that you'll be using for this project then add your domain by clicking addon domains.
FTP
Next download filezilla FTP (FileZilla - The free FTP solution). This is what you'll use to put your files on the server. After that we want to configure it. Go back to your CPanel, and click FTP accounts on the right. You should have received your FTP details when you signed up, but if you did not, then create a new one. Go back to your FTP, click the icon under file and then click new site. Fill in the details accordingly. Where it says logon type, set it to normal.. Everything else is self explanatory, and don't worry about the account field. If you are not able to connect set your port to 21, otherwise leave it blank. Click ok and minimize your FTP.
WP (wordpress)
You have 2 options, manual or auto install.
Auto:
Go back to CPanel, and under Software / Services heading, click Fantastico, Softaculous, or whatever auto installer you may have. If you're having trouble with this let me know, but click through all of the icons under that category first. Under the blogs category, click wordpress. Click install. Fill in the details accordingly and click install. You now have wordpress. I made you do all of the FTP stuff above so you know how to. There are plent of other scripts out there that you'll have to manually install.
Manual:
Download, WordPress › Download, unzip on your desktop, go back to your FTP and open up the root folder. You always want to upload everything there, any other folders above the root folder are important system folders that allow you to use the server. The root folder is usually called public_html. If you don't see public_html, look for www. Otherwise, your host may have automatically opened you up in the root folder. Upload the contents of wordpress there and go back to CPanel. Under databases, click mysql database wizard. Create a database, and when wordpress is completely uploaded, go to your domain where you put WP and fill in the details accordingly from your database info.
WP setup
If you don't already have one, get a Google Analytics and Adsense account. If you've been banned from adsense, get a Clicksor,AdBrite,Bidvertiser account. If you have another network that you prefer, use them.
Login to your wp admin area and get the following plugins. Don't ask me where it is, it's self explanatory, so just click around a bit, it's in the left pane. Download and install the following:

twitME (don't link or get a twitter account yet)
Easy AdSenser
Yet Another Related Posts Plugin

Install those and configure them accordingly. They are self explanatory, but if you need help just ask for it and im sure you´ll get it.Now go to permalinks under settings, and in custom structure set it to, /%postname%
Themes
Themes are silly, I personally don't like them...they're time consuming. But they are just as essential as being at the top of google (almost). There are plenty of free ones and plenty of cracked ones out there. Google them and pick one that you like. We'll be focusing on TV shows so get one related to that. If you want to do your own thing and fill another niche, by all means, go for it. The stuff that you're going to learn is going to work great with anything else. As always there are exceptions, but I'll try to provide the best equivalent as possible.
Themes are like eye candy, and you can think of your visitors as children running after the icecream truck.

ePassporte suspended from friendfinder
ePassporte said Thursday that its banking partner’s Visa program has been suspended.
EPassport said Visa International put on hold transactions involving St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank and that it can no longer issue Visa cards and that account holders won’t be able to make point-of-sale purchases and withdraw funds from ATMs.
“At this time we do not know why this drastic action was taken by Visa,” ePassporte owner Christopher Mallick said in a letter. “To us, it is unconscionable that such action would be taken without the opportunity for ePassporte to fully understand Visa’s reasons and to be able to take all steps necessary to keep our program running the way it has so successfully done for over seven years. But that is what Visa has done.”
Mallick said ePassporte was notified at noon on Thursday of the suspension.
“The ePassporte e-Wallet program continues to be up and running, except funds cannot be transferred between your Visa account and your e-Wallet,” Mallick said.
“As soon as we have more information we will be in contact with you,” he said. “In the meantime please be assured that your funds are safe.The ePassporte team is working diligently to rectify this situation."
Mallick said customers can contact the company through its call center for queries.
