He knows how to tell relevent stories which engage the reader; before you know it, you've read this entire book.
The message Godin is delivering is really quite simple. Marketers should have a good story to tell; if it's a good enough story, consumers will repeat it, and that story has now become entrenched in our minds as "reality". Mission accomplished.
Successful marketers understand the importance of creating demand from telling a good story. However, as Godin warns, the stories had better be authentic; consumers in this day and age of social media are quick to spot the phonies. Who does not know Facebook? Social networking site made by Mark Elliot Zuckerberg it has worldwide. And now, in Indonesia also already exist that create similar sites, salingsapa.com. Remarkably, the creators just a teenage boy.
Mohammed Yahya Harlan (13) is the name of the boy-style up the site's creators. 7A-grade students (1 SMP) Sekolah Alam Bandung, West Java, was named his creation site with Salingsapa.com.
Initially, says John, he was moved to create a social network similar to Facebook (FB) who speak Indonesian. Then, only within one month, created Salingsapa.com. In a short amount of time is, John makes a full social networking site features a slightly different with FB.
"At first I see on the news, there are those who make such a FB Indonesia with the Indonesian language. I thought, I can also make the same and even better," said Yahya, met at school in the Upper Dago area, on Thursday (10 / 2 / 2011) yesterday.
The eldest son of the couple Yan Harlan (45) and Fidriana (37) was also started tinkering with his computer for designing the features of social networking that will made it. Assisted by his father who is also a hobby to play computer, Yahya request feature ideas that would make.
As a result, the work of students who liked this science subjects has received appreciation from various parties. Friday (11.02.2011) this afternoon, he even lined up to star into one of three junior high school students who will deliver his presentation before faculty and students of ITB.
According to the mother, Fidriana, her son was asked to describe his work for 20 minutes and 10 minutes for question and answer session. There is no special preparation by Yahya though this was the first time she had appeared in public, even more so in the presence of lecturers and students.
However, Fidriana believe his son was able to prove themselves. Because social networking is purely the work of Yahya despite assistance from his father's idea.
He also said that Yahya interest in computers has seen since the age of 3 years. At that time, he was fiddling with a computer owned by his father. Due to the great interest, Yahya had come a few computer lessons, including lessons in Komlab ITB which participants most of the students.
"He always wanted to learn a new computer, so while participating les, he joined several training packages that all student participants," said Fidriana, when found at his residence in Awi Ligar, Cimenyan, Bandung.
Once the idea of social networking to create his eldest son, she and her husband only supports and directs that such work would be great if beneficial for many people.
"Therefore, this Salingsapa.com intended for proselytizing and kindness. We hope that this Yahya creation of social networking as well as the fields of charity," said Fidriana, which keep track of John to continue to set the time between studying and taking care of these social networking.
